Today I was feeling a bit like Spring although if you are here in the Northwest our weather couldn’t be further from Spring-like. It was raining, windy, thunder – seemed more like November than March. So being that I felt like spring I chose a jewelry selection today that I thought really fit my mood and made me feel a bit sparkly.
One of my coworkers commented that I was wearing my St. Patty’s Day green and what do you know… she was right. The Sea of Love Necklace and Bracelet seemed more blue to me than green but since she had mentioned it – it really did have a bit of St. Patty’s green in there against my color choices today. I was studying the catalog today wondering what I wanted to learn more about and when I saw Cookie’s quote on page 13 of the catalog it was clear. Her quote was “Hammered Satin is the essence of simple sophistication” – Cookie Lee.
While at first glance on the glossy pages of the new catalog I was only marginally interested in these pieces – once I saw them in person I knew these would be a hit! This is the perfect day to night set for any time of year. I added in another piece from the 2010 catalog because while it may not have been intended to match perfectly with this set, this hammered look it truly eye catching.
I was struggling to come up with which beautiful piece I wanted to focus on today and then it hit me – I was inspired! This Necklace is perfect not only because of its name but because it is a really great wear anytime piece. It goes with absolutely anything!
I have seen necklaces similar to this in catalogs or magazines and were absolutely not as beautiful nor as affordable.
This necklace has removable charms so you can really choose what inspires you each day and how you want to wear it. It is made from genuine crystal and adjustable 30″-35″ which I appreciate since sometimes my neckline requires something a bit different. The chain on this piece is also quite unique in that there are several different chain styles that make up this look which gives this a little bit of something special. The black accents in the charms allow the words to stand out. The center charm is a circle of the geniune crystals and adds just the right amount of sparkle.
I was thinking this weekend about how my husband and I always talk about how Valentine’s Day is just a hallmark holiday and that it really doesn’t need to be celebrated, or does it? I mean how many wifes, girlfriends, lovers would be disappointed if their husband, boyfriend, lover just completely ingnored this hallmark holiday and acted as though it were the random Tuesday? Probably the majority of us. Despite the fact that this holiday really is a big balloon, flower, jewelry, chocolate, card giving day…somehow it cannot go without some acknoledgement.
So, this year I have decided that the best gift of all would be to have all the fashion jewelry I can handle…which currently given my state of inventory…feels very true.
